There are many 78s out there in different shapes and prices are all over the place.  Difference is made by condition, upgrades, reliability, restoration work, etc. 

Here is a fine example of the 78 model year, the first of the "fast backs", a beautiful Red Coupe in excellent condition for the money... Note the shinny paintjob, virtually flawless, which is about 7-8 years old when the car was restored by a local Corvette business.  The look is complimented by the factory glass tops and the deep tinted windows creating a stealthy appearance.  The interior was freshened up and the seat covers, carpet, door panels, dash, all look good.  Gauges and instruments work and an aftermarket sound system is installed.   Has functional power windows. 

Under the hood, there is a GM 350 engine which appears to have been upgraded, also endowed with a nice cam, Edelbrock Perfomer carburetor, headers with a "guesstimate" of around 250 to 300 HP.  It has new radiator, new springs, new brakes, all new body bushings...  AC blows cold, vacuum operates properly, all in all, a Vette that was gone through and you will be enjoying.

Car literally needs nothing and will make a nice daily driver and a Sunday show car.
