It features a NOM 69 Corvette motor, rebuilt with compression, performance cam shaft, coupled with a close ration 4-speed transmission and a 3.73 rear end. Engine breathes in through a Edelbrock Performer intake 2101, Holley 650 CFM, double pumper carburetor, K&N air filter and breathes out through Hooker headers Aluma coated. Sparks come from a MSD ignition type 6AL with the appropriate wires and distributor. Engine is fitted with Cal Custom finned aircooled cast aluminum oil pan. Vacuum lines were rebuilt and headlights and wiper door works as it should. Car is equipped with Power Steering and Power Brakes, also with Vintage AC masterfully installed in the engine compartment with the dash switch masquerading as a the cigarette lighter. The interior is a luxurious Al Knock leather, with the matching deluxe door panels. console, arm rest, carpet, leather seat covers... all practically brand new. The convertible top is new as well and fits perfect. Radio is a vintage look-alike, also with the necessary I-pod connector. Body is in excellent condition with a very high quality paint in Metallic Purple with Purpleen accents on the rear end and on the hood. Purpleen is a special special paint by Chromalusion which changes its color depending on the viewing angle and light from Green to Yellow, to Purple and everything in between. It has a Big Block hood apparently original, not reproduction. Chrome is all new, as well as emblems. Frame is perfectly detailed with rebuilt suspension, both upper and lower, new bushings, new brakes and brake lines, new Gabriel gas charged shocks... Back in nineteen seventy-four, the current owner purchased this Signet Red 1958 Corvette and became its caretaker. He has done an outstanding job! The red interior appears to be original and is in fabulous condition. No rips. No tears. Just a little patina to make a statement. The dash pad and instrument panel look great. And the carpet --- it is in amazing condition considering that it was replaced over 36 years ago! The Signet Red and Snowcrest White lacquer paint was reapplied ten years ago and you will be impressed by its condition today. The painter was a craftsman. The engine is a replacement 283 with a single four-barrel carb. This was the engine that came with the car when purchased by its current owner. About three years ago, the peppy little 283-engine was treated to a rebuild. According to the owner, the engine has its original bore and was rebuilt to stock 1958 Corvette specifications and runs on No Lead gas. No additives required. Many Corvette buyers back in 1958 paid $215.20 extra and selected the hardtop option. What is that hardtop worth today? As you can see, this classic beauty has a hardtop that was also repainted Snowcrest White lacquer ten years ago. It too is very well preserved. The hardtop has a red headliner matching the interior. Of course, there is a white soft-top stowed away. This 1958 Corvette is optioned with the hardtop, a 4-speed transmission (Muncie replacement), an AM signal seeking radio, a courtesy light, white wall tires, and two-tone exterior paint.
