Our offer today is a milestone Corvette, the last of the much coveted LT1 run (1970-1972), an original Ontario Orange Coupe which has survived pretty much unmolested.  It spend most of its life in California, being brought to Florida about 10 years ago.  While in California, it appears that it was owned by the same person all its life and the latest “Blue Tag” indicates that it last registered back in 1995.

The original matching numbers engine is present in the car with the correct block  with VIN and suffix “CKY” on the engine pad, signifying the 350/255 LT1 engine.  It is mated with the original M21 4-speed manual transmission with VIN present on it.  Note the very original engine compartment including the rare and functional “smog pump” including the charcoal canister required with CA emission cars.

It came from the factory painted in Ontario Orange 987, a very popular choice at that time.  The original lacquer paint is present on the car showing the right patina, present body seams and unhit body.  Interior is the standard Black with appears to have been replaced sometimes recently as it is looking very nice.  All instruments and gauges are functional, except clock, of course.  Note the way the vacuum operated wiper door is functioning in the attached video.

It recently went through a thorough process of rejuvenation: brakes were done, a new fuel tank and rubber fuel lines added, new EEC valve, new clamps and hoses.   Vacuum-operated headlights work as they should, key locks work, the original spare tire is just the way it was back when it was new as seen in the picture. Undercarriage is clean. Car runs and drives as it should with no issues.

This car is a great example of a “survivor”, driver as it stands, or a candidate for gradual restoration.  The LT1s hold a special place in the collectors’ heart and likely have great potential for appreciation, especially original and unmolested examples like this one.
