The 1962 model marked the end of the first generation of Corvettes which debuted in 1953... This model year has quite a few distinct features like the newly introduced 327 engine, replacing the 283, all solid body (no contrasting coves), first with seat belts, last of the solid axle...

Our offer today is a very fine example of that vintage, a beautiful Honduras Maroon Convertible. It is probable that the car was born with the optional Fuel Injection option as all it is endowed with a correct Rochester (fully rebuilt) FI unit and presents some of the tell-tale signs of the cars born with that option like: radiator core support with the proper air intake inlet, correct harmonic balancer with cooling fins, additional cross over exhaust tube... However, no claims are made that the car is a correct born-with Fuelie since the engine, even it has the correct 870 casting numbers, does not have any markings on the engine pad, likely being decked on a possible rebuild. Also, the tach is incorrect for the FI application, possible since it has been replaced sometime in its life.

In any case, you are looking at a very nice and complete 1962 Corvette with a an older correct paint still showing very nice with the appropriate patina. Interior is very nice, however a lot of parts come now with the car: new dash, new seat covers, carpet etc. It has a very nice, apparently recently installed white soft top, together with the optional Hard top. Tires look new, undercarriage is very clean, exhaust looks fresh.

Car was recently awaken from a long slumber since 1984 and recently $15000 were spent on it as following: FI unit completely rebuilt, gas lines cleaned and freshened, before re-installing Fuel Injection unit, valve covers removed, adjusted, also replace valve cover gasket, distributor checked and fixed, new plugs, new wires, radiator removed, flushed, recored, repainted... Rear end (4.56) serviced with with new seals oil, etc., rebuilt differential carrier, brakes lines and hoses...  Miles show 78K which could be actual. 

Lights work (high beam – low beam), gauges work, tach and speedo are not. Engine starts right away, performs as it should, exhibits adequate power.

Here is a beautiful chance to enjoy the Corvette hobby with one early model which is very presentable, has a desirable fully functional Fuelie option, great street appeal and performance...
