In case you are wondering about the �RPO 449-engine,� it is the 265ci engine with dual 4-barrel carburetors and the high lift cam option creating 240 horsepower. Only 111 Corvettes were built in 1956 with the engine code �GU.�  This one survived as stated by the owner.

The frame off restoration was completed in 2002 and has been exceptionally well preserved by its caretakers. The restoration duplicates the original two-tone Onyx Black and Polo White paint with a red interior. The paint is base/clear and still looks very fresh.

This 1956 Corvette was also originally ordered with a 3-speed manual transmission; an AM signal seeking radio, a courtesy light, white wall tires, and two-tone exterior paint.  The soft top is black.
